The YMCA of Kingston offers a full range of recreation programs that take place in a safe, non-competitive environment, where everyone is treated equally in an atmosphere of mutual respect.

The YMCA of Kingston believes that recreational activities help develop self-esteem and confidence and help youth to work both as individuals and as part of a team. We also believe that recreation can make a real difference to communities, helping them meet and come together through a shared passion for their activity.

Your YMCA offers a variety of recreational activities, such as badminton, volleyball, wheelchair basketball, dance, Y-ball and squash.

At the YMCA we help youth find balance in their lives. From recreation and fitness programs to job opportunities. We hire many youth all year for work in Summer camps and aquatics. There are also endless volunteer opportunities available.

Youth Leadership Program – Ages 12 – 17

Calling all future leaders! Make new friends and build bonds to last a lifetime in this volunteer based program aimed to prepare youth for a future as part of the YMCA. This program focuses on physical activity in the first hour with games that emphasize team building. In the second hour of each session we practice and learn how to prepare a resume, improve both their public speaking and interview skills.

As part of a great leadership experience package, participants will get the opportunity to volunteer at different community events and programs throughout the session.

Youth Sport programs at the Y are an amazing way for kids to stay active and keep their skills up on the court! Available to Members Only!

Work Hard Eat Well is a unique program to the Y. Participants take part in vital physical activity while learning about diet, nutrition, and food preparation. Nothing beats a well balanced meal, especially after fun-filled physical activity! Youth will push their bodies to the limit with a personal trainer in the first hour and afterwards learn how to prepare nutritious, healthy meals with their instructor in Ongwanada kitchen.
